Careers at JCS

Jarabacoa Christian School is constantly hiring. Our school year runs from August through June. We prefer candidates with teaching experience, however, we are open to any candidate with a minimum of a bachelor's degree and the willingness to gain, apply, and share knowledge. All teachers must share our moral values.

About JCS

JCS is a private, nonprofit, Christian bilingual school located in Jarabacoa, a small mountain town in the Dominican Republic.

JCS offers on-going teacher training to all of its faculty members. Professional development sessions are scheduled on a monthly basis and are available to faculty members during their contracted hours.

The JCS faculty is invited to many of the national professional development sessions hosted by Pearson and other vendors.

Student teaching

JCS is proud to welcome student teachers willing to travel to Jarabacoa to complete their required hours.

Student teachers will be provided with the same professional development opportunities as any other JCS faculty member.

Requirements vary depending on the position you are applying for.
Teaching positions require a minimum of a bachelor's degree in any subject. Experience will be considered.
Priority will be given to those applicants that hold a TEFL certification.

Our housing options are reserved for foreign volunteers. All of our houses are fully furnished and are equipped with a water tank and power generator.
